Using the Vegetation Change Reports API

Requirements:

Generate automated reports on vegetation changes using NDVI analysis across all fields in your organization. This service provides a JSON with NDVI changes and variability patterns for comprehensive field monitoring based on the last 4 weeks of data.

You can use the Vegetation Change Report endpoint and Variability Change Report endpoint to generate comprehensive vegetation analysis reports.

When to use

Use Vegetation Change Reports when you need:

  • Up to Organization-level monitoring: Track all fields across up to organization-level
  • Time-saving analysis: Avoid manually checking each field individually
  • Recent change detection: Monitor vegetation changes over the last 4 weeks
  • Scouting prioritization: Identify fields that need immediate attention based on API data

How it works

The service analyzes NDVI data across all fields in your organization, analyzing the last 4 weeks of data to identify recent vegetation changes and variability patterns. The API returns structured JSON data with field-level analysis and scouting recommendations.

Quick start

  1. Prerequisites: Choose your AOI
  2. Choose report types: Select either change reports or variability reports
  3. Request report generation: Submit request for NDVI change analysis
  4. Process JSON response: Retrieve JSON data for the given AOI

Generating your first report

  • NDVI Change Report: Track vegetation changes across all fields
  • Variability Change Report: Monitor field uniformity and detect problem areas

Common use cases

  • Recent field monitoring: Generate change reports for proactive field management
  • Variability analysis: Monitor field uniformity patterns
  • Scouting optimization: Get field prioritization for scouting activities

Scouting recommendations

The API automatically identifies fields "Recommended for Scouting" using the following criteria:

  • Positive NDVI trend: The last two NDVI weeks show positive values
  • High variability threshold: The latest variability measurement exceeds 0.06
